Now open for summer 2021! Visit all the planets on a walk in a stunning island location, finishing up with a picnic on Pluto with a puffin! Bring your own picnic, the puffin is resident.

Each of the planets has been designed by Friends of Wild Skies – Mercury has been knitted, Neptune is made of glass, the sun has been designed and made by the Early Years Setting at the Baltasound School. All the artwork has been transferred onto aluminium panels and the planets have been set at relative distances from each other.

A QR code at the start will give you access to lots more facts and information, for those who want to delve a little deeper into space.

We ask that there are no dogs on the planetary trail because of livestock and ground nesting birds.: Bonxies might be a hazard on this walk. Planet themed bonxie fending-off sticks are provided at the start. Please return the stick after use. Please do not injure the birds. Conditions on the hill can change rapidly. Please go well equipped with sturdy footwear and waterproofs. Please do not allow children to explore the dilapidated building at the very end of the path as it is in a state of collapse and could be dangerous.
